midnightlights: Star-shaped fairy lights in tree branches (not pretty not smart)
[personal profile] midnightlights

For some reason I’ve been finding it unbelievably hard lately to actually write anything here (or indeed anywhere). However, when I try to talk/write about this it just makes it worse, so I’m just going to skip the whole thing and go straight to babbling about inconsequential crap.

1. So, I have this garden, now. Sort of. Well, I call it a garden. Actually it is a bunch of plants in pots in the back yard which I filled with compost and planted seeds in. But I love it. It… brings me so much stupid joy just to be able to go and see that my flowers are blooming or the herbs have started to grow or there’s a single flower on the strawberry plant (really. We are going to have one single, perfect strawberry, I guess) or whatever. I will probably babble on boringly about it and spam pictures of my roses and my tiny herb garden. I love growing things. It makes me feel like I am, I don’t know, capable of actually doing something without failing at it.

2. Lovely bff-person gave me some of their cross-stitch equipment because I’ve been making vague noises about wanting to give it a try. So I did and it is epic fun, in a sort of relaxing Zen kind of way. I have cross-stitched half a lizard so far, planning to finish the other half this afternoon. Now I just need a suitable phrase/slogan/whatever to go with a lizard picture. Any suggestions?

3. speaking of reptiles, I GOT A LIZARD FOR MY BIRTHDAY YOU GUYS. And he even allowed me to pick him up recently. Which is a bit of a surprise because he’s usually not the friendliest of reptiles. I was actually quite worried about him, but after a few moments he seemed to come round and bit my finger, so I guess he was just sleepy at first. Bless his evil little lizardy heart.

The sea has many voices,
Many gods and many voices.
The salt is on the briar rose,
The fog is in the fir trees.
